Training

A well asked question from most new dog owners is, “How long will it take my dog to obey me and stop doing all the silly, destruction stuff?”
The answer to this question isn’t always all that simple. The reason for this generally has something to do with the following.
· The owners dedication to following up the training
· The age of the dog, e.g. very young or getting on in age
· The breed of the dog
· History of the dog…has it been rescued from a dogs home
· Does the dog have issues prior to you getting it?
Dogs are not aware that their behaviour inappropriate. To them, it’s simple doggy fun or, it may be a release from anxiety however, my point here is that without proper training, your dog is unaware of what they are doing and may continue to do it until they are taught not to.
Even dogs that have had some form of training may need to be reinforced. Most adults if asked cannot remember algebra from their high school math class, even though they learned it for roughly six years, so how well will a 5 year old dog be if he did 6 weeks of casual training as a puppy?
To not train a dog is a gross injustice to the dog as it has no clear understanding of what is required and therefore punishment is unfair in any form.
Sadly, hundreds of perfectly good dogs will be put to sleep all over Australia simply because they were inconvenient and didn’t understand.
Master Dog Training has aided thousands of people simply by giving them a thorough education and teaching them how to understand our best mates.
